The Tsunami Bowl

Hey! It's been a long time since I typed an entry, so sorry about that. Guess what? I'm going to Seward, AK for the National Ocean Science Bowl (or Tsunami Bowl)! Yay! It's a competition between teams from everywhere in Alaska. For one part, your team has to write a big paper about a topic, which you then submit. This year's topic was about thinning sea ice, but we wrote ours about melting glaciers and their effects instead. Then, in Seward, each team has to give a presentation, and then you go off and compete with everybody by answering ocean-related questions.

WARNING: the rest of this entry is pretty much me complaining about the timing of the Bowl. I just really wanted to type this down and complain, but I'm still really excited to go to Seward.

So this is all cool and dandy, but the timing is terrible. Here's a list of other things that happen the exact same weekend:
- The Superbowl. (I'm not really a fan or anything, but this is an event for which my family gathers and has fun)
- My Dad's birthday. (Bummer not to be there)
- The only time the ACT is given in the town in which I live. (So I guess I just have to take it next year)
- The only time Avatar will be in this town. (If you don't live here, you've probably already seen it)
And as for school work, I have a vocabulary test with a million words (more like 100, but that's still a lot), an essay to write in 40 minutes (it's practice for a test, but it's graded), and a math test (which I either have to take early, on the plane, or during the Superbowl). Eesh.

Okay. I'm all good now. Despite all this I am looking forward to the trip and I really hope that the weather is nice and that I don't get carsick. That's all for now. Maybe next time I will type about a dream I had, cause I had a really weird one about the Caribbean, dancing, and werewolves. Goodbye y'all! (southerness. Hehehehe)
